Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre
Known for creating “production discomfort” with its shows, Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre did not deviate with its production of Clothing in 2023. To promote the intricacies and contradictions of fashion that Clothing explored, we conducted a PR campaign, earning media coverage from Calgary Guardian, LiveWire, City News and 660 Radio.

ABOUT SWALLOW-A-BICYCLE THEATRE
Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre creates productive discomfort. “Productive” as in working in service of the health, well-being, and joy of artists, audiences, and communities. “Discomfort” as in challenging the status quo of art and society; breaking down imposed boundaries; questioning what is considered “normal”; and sharing artistic work that doesn’t fit neatly into the silos of conventional disciplinary categories.
After several years of deep reflection and organizational restructuring, with the aim of making Swallow-a-Bicycle Theatre more equitable, abundant, supportive and non-hierarchical, we’re thrilled to announce that - as of August 2023 - we’ve adopted a shared leadership model and the organization is now helmed by three Co-Artistic Directors: Mark Hopkins, Mpoe Mogale and Kris Vanessa Teo Xin-En. Swallow-a-Bicycle was founded in 2006 and is based in Mohkinstsis (Calgary, Alberta, Canada). For more information, visit www.swallowabicycle.com
